Thread: Kampa Junior Bed - childrens inflatable bed

As someone (@sugarpuff I think) asked about this I figured i would do a quick review on it.

We got this junior inflatable bed to take camping with us. Cost us £15 from local camping shop, postage made it more expensive to buy online. Comes in pink or blue.

We went for it over a regular single airbed as I was worried about her falling off a single airbed and getting cold on the tent floor. This has raised sides so while they can still wriggle off if they try hard enough it tends to keep her contained overnight.

Size packed up is 26x22x10cm and it is just about possible to get back in its box if you use the pump to suck all the air out of it as you fold it up. Weight packed up is 1.8kg (out of box). Works with our cheap inflator to put up and down. Has a small opening for inflating which has a one way valve and a larger bung can be pulled out to make putting it down easier.

Sleeping area is 117x65cm and the sides are another 15cm wide. Its much wider than a normal single airbed. Its about 18cm tall with the sleeping surface being about 8cm thick and the raised sides about 10cm higher.

Upper surface is flocked and if you put a fleece blanket onto it and mould it to shape it grips quite nicely to the flocking and says put all night.

Leila loves it when we go camping and now shes older we will use it for sleepovers and holidays away as well.

Wider than standard airbed
Hideous pink colour! (they had no blue where I got it from )

Ahh thanks for this! I'm looking at this sort of thing for when we go camping this summer. Seen lots of these around and also 'ready beds', but I'm having trouble choosing! What's this like for an adult to lay on? Wanting to get something that DH can use this summer and Jasper next summer (he'll be in with me this summer).

Comfy enough but a bit squished for an adult. Just about to upload pics of Leila on it to show size.

To be honest its ok in the tent on its own. If we had 2 kids though I would do what my sister has done and get another double airbed. That way you can have both kids on one or one kid one adult on each and they fit into the bedroom compartments better. 2 of these wouldnt fit in our tent along with our double airbed (or if they did there would be no floor space left and you risk the bedroom pod touching the ouside of the tent which is bad!)
