@Madmumof4 - all the PC experts I know tell us to use AVG. DH insists we have to use Norton instead (which is expensive and resource hungry *sigh*), but I have used AVG in the past and it's brill.

Norton is awful! It costs, it's not particularly good, and like you said it absolutely DEVOURS system resources. It also gets its nasty little roots so deep into your OS that it's practically impossible to get rid of without wiping the hard drive (e.g. if you decide to start using a free one and stop paying for updates to Norton, it'll stick around like an unwanted and oddly safety conscious house guest, pestering you about updating your security.) I;d never let it near my precious PC. I need the resources for geekery
