Thread: TBJ Mobile - New option for browsing TBJ on your phone!

Sick of the uselessness of TapaTalk on Blackberry, I've gotten off my arse... figuratively of course... and created a new (and free to use!) Mobile Skin for The Bundle Jungle! This lightweight version of the forum will load MUCH more quickly on your mobile device, and uses up to 10 times less of your Data Allowance per page load than the full TBJ site.

It also has a few features unavailable on Tapatalk, and has scope for being added to in future if anyone has any useful suggestions.

Or, at any time, by scrolling to the bottom of the forum and clicking "Switch to TBJ Mobile":




When you've done this once, your device SHOULD remember to access the forums using TBJ mobile from then on. If it doesn't you can switch back and forth between the mobile verion and full version of the site using the link mentioned above, and the "Return to Full Forum Mode" that appears at the top of TBJ mobile. Note that if you access TBJ Mobile via your computer to test it out, you'll need to click on that link to get back to the proper forum!



Here are some screenshots of how it looks and works:



The first image shows the full forum list, allowing you to access the individual areas of TBJ. Using the navigation bar at the top, you can switch between this mode and "New Posts" mode, and access your Private Messages.




The Second image shows the "New Posts" mode, which works much like the standard TBJ sidebar, showing the most recently replied to threads. Note that, unlike the sidebar, New Posts mode omits threads in which YOU are the most recent poster, so if a thread doesn't appear here it means there have been no new replies.




The third image shows the thread view, in which you read and reply to threads. Here you can see two of the main differences between TBJ Mobile and TapaTalk - a "plus" indicator that appears next to the PMs tab when you have a new message, and the ability to like posts using the new rep system.



Other major advantages include the ability to vote in polls, and the ability to view smilies and images in posts:




The main reason for making this was to make accessing the forums easier for myself when I need to do so from work, as the full view was far too slow and tapatalk just wasn't cutting it, but I've decided to make it available to anyone who wants to give it a go on their mobile. I'm also open to suggestions on features to add, if anyone has any, though I can't promise they'll be possible!
