Thread: Difficulty editing long posts: input box jumping back to top!

NOTE: This bug only seems to affect Internet Explorer! Firefox is unaffected. If you experience this issue in a browser other than Internet Explorer, please make a new thread in the Help forum and let us know!

We've received reports of people having difficulty editing long posts, whether that be going back to add things whilst initially writing the post, or going back to edit the post later. Ths takes the form of being unable to select anywhere in the post to insert text (e.g. to add extra information half way through, or at the end of, the post) and also the scroll bar at the side "glitching" (flashing between different sizes, moving up and down on its own).

This is a known vBulletin bug rather than one specific to The Bundle Jungle, which I've been assured should be addressed in an upcoming update.

However, for now there is a workaround!

This bug only seems to affect the "standard editor" post interface, and not the WYSIWYG interface. The WYSIWYG interface has been set as the standard option for all new members and so HOPEFULLY you shouldn't be having any problems unless you joined the forums on or before the 13th of May, 2010.

If you did join before that date, you can fix the problem by following these steps:

For those with Dropdown Menus:
User CP --> Forum Options > scroll down to "Miscellaneous Options" > select "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" > scroll down and click "save"

For those without Menus:
User CP > General Settings (on the sidebar) > scroll down to "Miscellaneous Options" > select "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing" > scroll down and click "save"


This should sort your post editing problems for the time being! I'll update this thread when the bug has been fixed, so that you can change back to the standard editor should you choose to.
