I'm in love with using phone apps to occupy my kids on long car journeys or in the doctor's waiting room. They're a great, easy way to teach your kids something new and often I get engrossed too. I recently discovered also some app companies have educational blogs in tandem with product developments, which keep the kids interested when maybe they're bored of the app.

A great new one is Lingibli, they're starting a English-Spanish story on their blog to test out the kids market before they launch their product
