Feeling a bit better today. Have been put on two weeks of antibiotics this time, which is DEATH. They made Jeremy ill last time, not to mention the fact that they have to be taken four times a day on an empty stomach which basically means that I don't eat! Wash *pity party* wish I knew what caused this. Maybe LLL could help.

Have you checked your bra fitting lovely? (I've actually been reading some rather compelling arguments regarding breast health long term and bras but am as yet undecided in full...def. check nothing is too tight, though). Also anything, wraps included that could be restricting correct drainage of the breast tissue in that area..even where they rest their little heads. Have you switched deodorants at all recently? Really really praying you can find and sort the cause
poor you and poor Jeremy
sorry I haven't messaged you by the way, in laws is proving streeesssfull! Two hours sleep last night, potentially a new record :/ will hopefully message you Sat if I can't tomorrow (sorry am including this here, Facebook goes crazy on my phone when I try to type and I don't have the patience for it at this mo) xxx

@enola this morning I'm wondering whether mastitis can be caused by injury? Because as I was feeding Jeremy from the other side, lying down, he elbowed me right where the patch is. He has a sharp little elbow! And it occurred to me that the last two times, it's been in the same place but on the opposite side...although the last two times have had another cause too, in that they both came straight after a missed feed. But he does elbow me like that if he's flapping about a bit.
As for other causes...I've been practically braless in the heat anyway, and I don't hold my breast to latch him on or while feeding so...

@TheRev'sFamily: I had mastitis when Elise was less than 1 week old because of injury. Aimée kicked me really hard when I was changing her nappy. Right in my engorged breasts! The kick caused inflammation, which either injured the ducts or caused them to get blocked xx
