Thread: Night Weaning
-
Good luck with this - I'll be interested in hearing how it goes. I've been pretty resistant to the idea of night weaning Isaac, as I think it would be pretty traumatic for him, but if we're going to have another child, something's got to give. I think it'll either be a case of him naturally cutting back or weaning in pregnancy, or us actively attempting to night wean him. We'll see.

Well she had a very angry 20 minutes or so when I would't feed her back to sleep but it felt a lot longer. She only woke twice between 11 and 6 and second time wasn't as bad.
I did nearly give in, but glad now I didn't as that would have set us back. Can'tdecide now if tonight will be better or worse!

That was an odd one. She had a long nap yesterday, and didn't fall asleep until after 9pm (but she unlatched first before going to sleep). I put her in her bed and she slept through in there till 6:30
can't believe it.
So I didn't have to do anything last night
but I'm not convinced it will last and so I don't know whether to count tonight as night 2 or 3.
I leapt out of bed in a panic at 5am when she wasn't with us

She did feed a lot during the day yesterday, she may have been testing if it was still available when she wants it.

Never ever. Closest we've had was from about 11 till 6 from her coming into our bed.
Part of the reason I've waited this long is because she's quite a "good" feeder in the night in that it's usually 5-10 mins 1-3 times a night and I pretty much sleep through them anyway. Maybe she's realised that she doesn't need boob to go back to sleep.
I'd love it if it was that easy
but I doubt it. She's probably plotting a full in assault tonight
I wasn't planning on stopping co sleeping though, but we'll see.
