      School holiday activity ideas

So the school holidays have descended and I thought it might be nice to have a thread where we can give each other some ideas for activities to do. I currently home educate DS who is 22 months so will continue doing our regular routine but will adapt things to include DD who is 8 years old and is mainstream schooled. Some ideas I've had:
Bug/flower hunts-each member of the family is given a game board with pictures and names of different insects and flowers on, during a walk we try to find as many of them as possible.
Obstacle course-use household items to create an obstacle course either outside or inside-DD can help DS with the trucker bits and this activity can include number games as well as physical exercise.
Sewing with DD when DS is napping. I'm planning on drying our lavender and making little lavender bags which she can help me to make.
      Den building.
      Story book making.

      Any ideas welcome please

We've been off since the end of June, I've done (with the kids I nanny for) arts and crafts, finding bugs in the garden, park, painting at a ceramic place, baking, "making a theatre at home" - the task in that for them is to find, negotiate and agree on a film!! (they're 13, 10, 7 and 6) and then ava is 2. so not an easy task! We've gona for a bargain hunt in charity shops and I get them to do the Maths whenever we are shopping/having food at a cafe etc.

They go back on the 14 aug so not much longer now and I'm off 27th July till 13th aug, so rea
Ly not much time! This week only really, I plan on taking them strawberry picking, doing some writing (making a book etc - eldest already started). They help cook and clean after, so they get to do their own thing a fair bit but I limit tv/computer.

I do an a stable course type thing at the park, the 7yr old and 10yr old get bored while Ava and the 6yr old play in the things, so I make up a course around all tho,ay objects and they do relay races around them or I time them on my phone and they try to beat their time x

Some great ideas there! Thank you
I'm looking at foraging walks instead of fruit picking as there's nowhere really round here for that! I really like the charity shop bargain hunting idea so DD can do the adding up of the items!
